Turning Moments Into Memories

35 years ago, I first visited The Fairmont in Banff Springs and their sister hotel resort – Château on Lake Louise.  We were kicking off the Pepsi Challenge in Canada, and we convened all our independent bottlers in these iconic properties in Alberta to prepare for the upcoming Cola Wars.  Fun!

I was lucky enough to revisit The Fairmont in Banff to deliver a couple of speeches during the last decade for, among others, Tourism Alberta.

My sister Trisha and husband Colin, independently included this beautiful resort on their recent North American visit and rekindled my desire for a few days relaxation in the Canadian Rockies.

Trudy and I hopped on a Westjet flight from Robin and Marline’s place in Victoria and flew to Calgary before driving into paradise.  What a few days we have just spent in what must be one of the most beautiful locations in the world.  A place full of history, nature, tranquillity and beauty.  Gregor Resch and his fabulous leadership team are all dedicated to Making Special Happen.  They view every interaction with a guest as being an opportunity to delight and turn that moment into a lifelong memory.  Great people, great food, great hospitality, great views, great memories.  Check it out and book a Fairmont Gold room on the fifth floor (541 and 547 are stunning) and pack your troubles and worries away.  Book a half-day wildlife private tour with Scott and say hello to the Wapiti, Bears and  Deer.  Play golf on one of Canada‘s top three courses (and watch the wildlife there too) on the Fairmont’s 18 hole course.  (The Cauldron is the hole they all talk about and even to a non-golfer like me it looked pretty challenging.). The hiking is second to none.  The whole feel is one of a retreat where you can be together, alone.

Special thanks to Gregor, Balou, Carlos, David, Kendra, Quinton, and of course the Bear (Scott.)
