A Complete Unknown

Only in cinemas at the moment (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdV-Cs5o8mc).

2024’s Best Picture.  (In my opinion only – March 2nd is when the Academy Awards are announced.)

A story about my favourite artist, writer, poet, storyteller (not performer – he can really disappoint sometimes live – but then he can also give you Rolling Thunder) – Bob Dylan.

In 1961 Dylan came to find and meet his hero, Woody Guthrie who was hospitalised in Queens, NY (Trudy’s home territory).

He fell in love with Suze Rotolo (and Joan Baez).  And folk music.  And electric.  And ….

Trudy and I saw the movie on a cold winter’s afternoon in Zeffirellis, a 40 year old, independent, boutique, family-owned cinema with four screens, a restaurant and a jazz bar, in Ambleside – 10 minutes from our Grasmere home.

A brilliant, timeless venue to watch a brilliant, timeless movie.

Nominated for eight awards – including Best Picture, Best Leading Actor, Best Supporting Actress / Actor and Best Soundtrack.

Treat yourself and get out and spend two hours:

“With no direction home

Like a complete unknown

Like a rolling stone”.
