First you make friends then you make business. This was the advice of the founder of family owned Portuguese wine company Sogrape – Fernando Guedes, creator of Portugal‘s most famous wine Mateus Rosé. This sentiment is at the heart of my belief system, and the philosophy of Red Rose Consulting.
An old friend of mine, Fouad Es-Said, introduced me a month or so ago to one of his closest friends – Malek Sukkar – a successful entrepreneur and passionate Liverpool Football Club fan. Malek is the Chairman and leader of one of the most important Waste Management companies in the Middle East. Fouad thought we would get along and that we would enjoy each other’s company, banter, and business challenges. He was right on all fronts.
Last week in Dubai I spent two days with Malek and his eight person leadership team working on The Road to Peak Performance.
As everything starts with Purpose, we looked to re-create a Purpose on a Page for this very successful, well-established company. And had an action-packed, fun-filled couple of days doing just that.
Base Camp has been established.
A transformational Purpose has been co-created.
