The Latics are Back in Town – A ‘Royle’ Day at Wembley

Micky Mellon led Oldham Athletic back to the Football League on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

This beautiful 130 year old Club, on whose Board I am privileged to sit, came from behind (twice) to defeat Southend United in front of a record 52,000 crowd – and bring the Football League back to Oldham next season.

From being minutes away from bankruptcy (2021/22) to new ownership / new Board / new Manager and winning the biggest game in non-League Football in 2024/25.

Brilliant!!

There’ll be a Promotion Parade through the town and a Pitch Party today.  All of Oldham will be there.  (I’ll be in Arizona watching on – jealously!!)

Well done Frank, Luke and Sue,

Joe and Darren,

Micky and all the players and staff.

We’ve not come this far, to only come this far!

Go The Latics!
