Early dinner on the pavement – sun shining, mask-free in the open air, our second time at Zinc in Scottsdale’s Kierland Commons. A beautifully laid out area housing Tommy Bahama, Johnny Was, Sundance, Apple, Anthropologie, Michael Kors and Banana Republic – reminiscent in many ways of Rodeo Drive – with fun, unpretentious dining options like North Italia, Postino Wine-Bar and one of our favourite bistros – Zinc. A taste of Paris in the sunshine.
A classic bistro menu – we had a dozen oysters to share, tuna tartare and grilled octopus (Trudy) and liver pate and rabbit (me) – washed down with a very good Bordeaux (managed to resist the Moulon Rothschild 2003 and Haut Brion 2002).
Great service, terrific customer love and the place was jam-packed as a rapidly vaccinating Arizona celebrates socially. The streets were buzzing with good feeling, girls in their summer dresses and boys in their classic/vintage/look-at-me cars.
Laissez les bon temps rouler.
